Because we keep believing that what they tell us is true

“The pharmaceutical company just patented it”

Open up the paper to see what’s going on
We bought a whole bunch of fighter jets, I wonder who we’re gonna bomb
There’s a storm a coming so I guess that this must be the calm
The government wants our support to fix everything they've done wrong

Now I believe in democracy, I think the premise is great
Who you want in office, with your vote you can state
But what gets me frustrated is how some politicians demonstrate
They try to tell us how to love, and they try to tell us how to hate
